Hulu likely to be Pay-only on the iPad?

Hulu’s slogan, ” Watch your favorites. Anytime. For free.” It looks like that won’t exactly be the case if you want to watch Hulu shows on the Flash unfriendly iPad, according to a new report.

Peter Kafka of MediaMemo reported today that he has been told by “people familiar” with the matter that Hulu will “probably” come to the iPad and likely to be a paid subscription service.

Hulu and its owners, three of the big broadcast TV networks, want to bring some version of the Web video service to Apples device.

But the most likely scenario is one in which access to Hulu on the iPad comes as part of a subscription package, multiple people familiar with the company tell me.

This news did not come has a huge surprise as Hulu has been rumored to have some of its content offered to paid subscribers only. Jon Miller Chief Digital Officer of Hulu said last year that “he envisions a future where at least some of the TV shows and movies on Hulu, the premium video site co-owned by News Corp., NBC Universal and Disney, are available only to subscribers.”

Question of the day: Would you pay to be able to watch Hulu shows on the iPad?
